this weekend was EXCELLENT, most of all saturday night - my boyfriend and i had just set up our christmas tree (MY FIRST REAL TREE, EVER) and were sitting around the house trying to figure out what to do with a $10 bucket of plastic animals we'd scored earlier that day at target. we had a few friends over and within an hour or so their destiny revealed itself; above is part 1 in a 10 part series: WHEN ANIMALS RE-ENACT. raaawwr!

i've known DJ JENNDER since i moved into DC proper (5 years! so crazy!), and DJ DU JOUR i met when we were lucky enough to fall in with the WINDIAN fam. i was unbelievably stoked to work with the two of them on a FUNBAGS + panda head photo shoot this past weekend - these babes were super photogenic, and paired with photographer extraordinaire c.freeman the results were INSTANT GOLD. BEHOLD!













FUNBAGS is their dance night (garage! punk! glam! rock and roll! bubble blowin and wild wigglin!) and - as you can imagine from the description - FUNBAGS is A++. the ladies are providing the soundtrack to the official pharmacy bar holiday party this sunday night at 8PM; THINGS INVOLVED include photobooths, spiked eggnogz, ugly sweaters, and "kick your ass christmas tracks." if you need more convincing (which i can't imagine you would), check this video. done watching it? I'LL SEE YOU THERE.

i had a couple days off work this week and - between dog walks and SHOE DELIVERIES - i sat down to finish a video project i started SEVEN MONTHS AGO (eeeeek!) with new rock church of fire. the final product, SHIN SPLINTS, can be viewed above.
video vixen carolyn lamond and i shot in a columbia heights basement (while NRCOF recorded the song in the other room) with a handheld, a flag, DIY lighting (cardboard + aluminum foil + christmas lights), and a case of coors light; afterwards the backdrop led to roughly 50million late night photos, about 12 of which were KEEPERS (i blame the rockies). check out the video for SHIN SPLINTS when you get a sec, and thanks!
